Deborah Lenny

AEE Volunteer Position: CWEEL Representative

Deborah Lenny began her career as an engineer in 1990 with Public Service Electric & Gas and was part of the evolving deregulated energy industry. Since that time, she held many positions in both the regulated & deregulated energy industries.

In her current role with Direct Energy/ NRG she is responsible for direct and indirect sales in North America. Her team is primarily responsible for optimizing the delivery of electric & natural gas commodity, sustainable energy products and behind the meter energy efficiency solutions to Direct Energy’s North American customers and brokers. Deb focuses the unique needs of customers/ brokers and positions the company for longer term, sustainable growth through complex energy & renewable transactions.

She has an Engineering Degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration from LaSalle University.

Deb is passionate about the development of women in engineering and energy through her work in local area STEM programs and serves on the national board of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Council on Women in Energy & Environmental Leadership (CWEEL) as the Chapter Liaison Committee Chair.
