The Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional (CIAQP) is one who manages how the technical, regulatory, industrial hygiene factors impact indoor air quality. The individual knows how to interpret IAQ tests and measurements, analyze sources of IAQ pollutants and makes recommendations on how to prevent, resolve and mitigate IAQ problems.
- To raise the professional standards of those engaged in indoor air quality.
- To improve the practice of indoor air quality by encouraging professionals in a continuing education program of professional development related to power quality.
- To identify persons with acceptable knowledge of the principles and practices of indoor air quality through completing an examination and fulfilling prescribed standards of performance and conduct.
- To award special recognition to those professionals who have demonstrated a high level of competence and ethical fitness for indoor air quality.
