Barry Benator – 2021 Hall of Fame Inductee

Barry I. Benator, P.E., C.E.M. is founder and president of BENATECH, INC., an energy management consulting firm serving clients throughout the U.S. and internationally. He has more than 40 years of consulting and training experience for corporate, institutional, and governmental clients. This experience includes energy audits of hundreds of commercial and industrial buildings, and the conduct of hundreds of energy management training programs. He is an instructor of AEE’s Certified Energy Manager program, the developer and lead instructor for AEE’s Life Cycle Costing Course, and a former instructor and board member of AEE’s Certified Energy Auditor program.
 

Barry is a registered professional engineer, a certified energy manager, a certified energy auditor and a certified green building engineer. He holds bachelor and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a M.B.A. in finance from Loyola University. Barry’s service to AEE began in the 1970s when he became a charter member of the Association. He is a Fellow of AEE and a reviewer and a contributor to the CEM workbook. He is coauthor of Project Management and Leadership Skills for Engineering and Construction Projects. Prior to his career in energy management, Barry served as an officer aboard a U.S. Navy nuclear fast attack submarine
