Two CEA courses in Muscat with the Authority for Electricity Regulation (AER), Oman

AEE was selected by the Authority for Electricity Regulation (AER), Oman to present two preparatory training programs and exams for Certified Energy Auditors (CEA) in Muscat, Oman .  These courses were held in September 2018 with expert AEE instructors traveling to Oman to present the training courses and proctor the exams.

The Authority for Electricity Regulation is responsible for regulating the electricity sector and some aspects of the water sector in the Sultanate of Oman. The Authority was established by Article (19) of The Law for the Regulation and Privatisation of the Electricity and Related Water Sector promulgated by Royal Decree 78/2004 on 1 August 2004 and Amended by Royal Decree 59/2009 and 47/2013 (”’the Sector Law”).

The Authority has been assigned the responsibility for setting up a master plan for energy efficiency in the country. A number of initiatives were undertaken by the Authority during the last few years and others are planned in the area of energy auditing but to enable the implementation of this program, qualified auditors are required to perform these audits.

The Association of Energy Engineers developed the Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) program over a decade ago and it is now presented across the global in five languages and is recognized globally by national and local governments, organizations and institutions.
