AEE Certification Programs are FBPTA-Aligned

AEE Programs Officially Aligned with the Federal Building Personnel Training Act (FBPTA)

The Certified Energy Manager^® (CEM^®) program, Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP^®) Program and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA^®) Program have been reviewed by the Facility Management Institute of the U.S. General Services Administration and these programs are all aligned with the FBPTA.  A formal, third party review was conducted and the process included reviewing learning objectives, skills taught, and material covered.   These qualifications will be included in the Core Competencies and Recommended Curriculum and added to the Accelerate FM tool.  The Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act is a law that requires federal building personnel – including those responsible for building management, operation, energy management, safety, and performance – to demonstrate core competencies, as laid out by the General Services Administration (GSA). For more info on FBPTA: http://www.fbpta-training.org.
