Delaware Technical Community College
Delaware Technical Community College offers associate degrees in Energy ManagementRenewable Energy Solarand Building Automation Systems. Graduates of the Energy Management program will be able to describe and measure energy use in building systems with the goal of evaluating and recommending energy solutions that will result in greater efficiency, energy cost savings and lower environmental impact. Graduates earning an AAS degree in Energy Management are eligible to take AEE’s Certified Energy Manager (CEM) exam.
Ferris State University
The School of Built Environment encompasses many careers that deal with the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the buildings and infrastructure people use every day. Ferris is one of only two institutions in the United States to offer a Bachelor of Science in Heating Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR). HVACR degrees provide a balance of theory and application. This includes a solid foundation grounded in the principles of HVACR combined with extensive laboratory experience. The Bachelor of Science in HVACR Engineering Technology and Energy Management (HVEM) degree is eligible to take AEE’s Certified Energy Manager (CEM) exam.
Lane Community College
For over 30 years, Lane Community College has successfully provided opportunities for training professional energy efficiency technicians who can immediately contribute to resource savings in their own communities. Two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree programs are available in Energy Management with Building Controls and Water Conservation. Also available is the registered Building Energy and Controls Apprenticeship ( BECA) Program which includes the Energy Management with Building Controls AAS degree and 2,000 hours of paid on-the-job training. Graduates of the AAS Degree in Energy Management with Controls and the BECA are eligible and highly encouraged to take AEE’s Certified Energy Manager (CEM) exam.
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) offers innovative, experiential energy management training in a net-zero capable building—the Great Lakes Energy Education Center —located on the College’s main campus in Green Bay, WI. NWTC’s Energy Management Technology program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become leaders in energy, acting as analysts, auditors, or consultants across various business sectors. Graduates of the Associate Degree in Energy Management Technology are eligible to take AEE’s Certified Energy Manager (CEM) exam.
Salt Lake Community College Energy Institute
The SLCC Energy Institute provides education and training in Energy Management, Solar Photovoltaic Systems, and the Energy Grid. The Energy Management program focuses on energy systems in the built environment and the identification of efficiency measures. Graduates earning the Energy Management AAS Degree are eligible to take AEE’s Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) exam.
University of Toledo
The University of Toledo College of Engineering offers Energy Management for Facilities GNEN 6980, which meets for over a 15-week period. This course fulfills the training requirements for CEM certification.
Western New England College School of Engineering
The Western New England College School of Engineering offers the live, on-site, training course ME 445, which meets for a total of 45 hours over a 15-week period. This course fulfills the training requirements for the CEM certification.
