Ziad Haddad

AEE Volunteer Position: Regional Vice President Middle East

Ziad is an energy leader and entrepreneur deploying his 25+ years of experience in the built environment and in energy & sustainability, into endeavors that make impactful positive difference in businesses and in peoples’ lives.

He holds an MBA from Université Paris Dauphine and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese University in addition to several international certificates in energy and sustainability.

In 2007 He co-founded OPUS energy offering sustainable engineering and energy services. In 2014, he joined the Lebanese American University where he is now serving as Senior Director of Physical Plant

Ziad served on the board of the Lebanon Green Building Council, as board member and then as VP. In 2017, he co-established AEE’s Lebanese Chapter and is currently serving as board member / past-president.

He contributed to numerous sustainability and energy efficiency projects under LEED, BREEAM, EDGE, LBC, ARZ and other schemes. He consulted for major institutions and Clients including the World Bank, the European Union, Aramco, the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects, the Directorate General of Urban Planning and others.

Ziad is a speaker and trainer on Leadership, green buildings, energy and sustainability. He is the developer of AEE’s “Lead Your Life and Energy Career” training program, a contributor to the CEM and the CBCP, and the co-writer of the “Criteria for Green Buildings in Lebanon”,
