AEE Fellow Induction Year: 2022

My AEE Story

I have been a member of the Association of Energy Engineers after graduating from Ferris State University’s HVACR Engineering and Energy Management Program in the early 90’s and became a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Over the past 20 years, I have participated in various local AEE Chapters, meeting local, regional and international energy professionals from around the world. By serving the Association as a volunteer, I was able to enhance my energy engineering and facility management expertise by reading, studying and practicing the profession which resulted in being selected as an Energy Professional of the Year by my peers. The AEE training and development certification programs led to volunteer assignments with the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) World Workplace Committees, and the American Society of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) as a member of the Technical Committee 7.3 Operations and Maintenance Management. Recognized by Ferris State University as a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient in 2012, I presently serve on the Ferris State University Alumni Association Board of Directors and as an advisory board member for Ferris’ College of Engineering Technology’s School of Built Environment sharing my experiences including those with the AEE, with students, faculty and other fellow alumni. The AEE experience is a game changing experience which makes the AEE and Ferris State University partnership a winning combination for future energy engineers.
