Building Leaders and Advancing Impact in 2026
Dear AEE Members,
I am honored to begin my term as AEE President and to lead this remarkable community as we navigate a pivotal year for the energy profession.
Looking ahead to 2026, the energy industry faces significant technical and strategic challenges. Pressures to decarbonize, the rapid adoption of electrification, increasing demands on the grid from data centers, and the ongoing need to provide affordable energy are all accelerating. These factors place energy professionals at the center of critical decisions that will shape the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of energy systems worldwide.
Today, I am proud to introduce the 2026 AEE Presidential Theme: Building Leaders, Advancing Impact. This theme reflects the direction of our profession and the objectives I hope to achieve in service to the Association. This theme centers on three key pillars: Leadership, Connection, and Service. Throughout my career, I have been involved with several organizations and have seen how effective leadership, meaningful connections, and a focus on service can empower members and strengthen communities. These experiences guide the priorities I plan to advance in 2026.
Leadership
We will strengthen AEE’s leadership pipeline by supporting chapter and regional development, expanding professional growth opportunities, and equipping emerging leaders with the tools they need succeed. In 2026, strategic training, mentorship pathways, and chapter empowerment will be priorities.
Connection
AEE’s greatest strength is its members. In the coming year, we will deepen member-to-member engagement and foster stronger collaboration across the entire energy ecosystem. You can expect more industry dialogue, enhanced digital networking, and new opportunities to exchange technical insights and best practice amongst members.
Service
We will amplify AEE’s brand and impact through meaningful community service and industry outreach. From STEM engagement to energy awareness campaigns and chapter-led volunteer initiatives, service allows us to extend our influence beyond professional circles and inspire the next generation of energy leaders.
In closing, I look forward to hearing your insights and ideas throughout the year. Your feedback will guide my priorities and help us make a meaningful impact together. I am excited about the opportunities ahead in 2026 and encourage you to reach out, get involved, and participate in the many events and initiatives that bring our community together.
Best regards,
Ricson O. Chude, P.E., CEM, CEA, CMVP
