Earth Day 2024: Anticipating Climate and ESG Reporting to 2030

*This webinar offers .2 AEE credits for live attendance.

Earth Day activates billions across the world to safeguard our planet and fight for a brighter future. This year, Raoul Empey will deliver a presentation on the growing requirements for businesses to provide comprehensive climate risk disclosures, set science-based targets, and develop credible Climate Action plans that chart the reduction of environmental impacts to 2030 and beyond.

Raoul will provide a sense of context and direction for companies that trade globally, outline the multiple requirements and challenges of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) reporting, as well as an understanding of supply-chain and what is driving these reporting requirements. He will discuss setting Net Zero and Science-Based targets, how the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) will apply to US companies operating in Europe, and synergies between the CSRD and the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) reporting rules for climate-related risks compliance in the USA. The webinar aims to reflect on what is driving climate disclosure reporting in your country and will be an engaging and interactive experience.

Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings: A Review of Transactive Energy

*This webinar offers .2 AEE credits for live attendance.

As our Nation’s electrical power system transitions to meet 100% decarbonization goals, the coordination between the Front of the Meter and Behind the Meter assets must be tightly coupled. Many customers currently have devices on-premises that can provide grid services, e.g., energy generation, capacity reduction, volt-var, and frequency response; however, currently under the legacy, monopoly Utility business model, individuals providing such services do not equitably share in cost-recovery for providing grid services.

A new business model, known as Transactive Energy (TE), created under NIST’s guidance, and released in 2011. TE provides a framework that shares the cost-of-service recovery among all stakeholders. This sharing creates a financial incentive to speed the adoption of clean-energy devices, thus reaching decarbonization goals faster, in a sustainable way.

About Energy Profit LLC — Energy Profit (EP) provides technical design and consulting services to utilities and organizations looking to enter or extend their focus on the Transactive Energy solution. EP’s founder, Stephen MacDonald, is a cross-functional Energy Systems Engineer practicing in the following advanced technology spaces: Transactive Energy Design (TE), Micro Grids (MG), Virtual Power Plants (VPP), Electric Vehicles (EV), Flexible Loads (FL), Distribution Grid Automation (DA).
