Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Progress, Global Impact, and Strategic Vision

It was an honor to serve as President of the Association of Energy Engineers in 2024. This year has been marked by significant achievements that have strengthened our organization’s position in the global energy industry and set the stage for AEE’s future. 

One of the most notable milestones was the launch of our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. This plan establishes a bold and clear vision for the next five years, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and inclusion. It addresses emerging challenges in the energy sector and provides specific objectives in areas such as globalization, industry digitalization, energy policies, diversity, and training for future professionals. This vision will guide our actions and decisions, ensuring that AEE remains a leading organization for energy sector leaders. 

In 2024, we made significant progress in globalizing our organization. With a presence in over 125 countries, AEE’s reach has never been more extensive. We established new partnerships with international organizations and government agencies, increasing our influence on critical energy and sustainability issues at the global level. These alliances have driven member participation in international forums, amplifying AEE’s visibility in key discussions about the future of energy. We have expanded our global participation as key actors in energy policy, contributing to COP, collaborating with the IEA, and engaging in numerous other forums related to energy and sustainability. 

Our team has also made significant efforts to enhance internal procedures, focusing on automation and process improvement. Their dedication and hard work have strengthened the operational foundation of AEE, allowing for greater efficiency and effectiveness in our activities. This internal evolution ensures that AEE remains a modern, forward-thinking organization capable of meeting the demands of an ever-changing energy industry. 

I am proud of the progress we have made in 2024, and I am grateful for the joint efforts of our members, associates, strategic partners, and the executive team. With the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan as our guide, AEE is well-positioned to lead the change in the energy industry. We will continue to advance globalization, strengthen our alliances, and expand our training and certification offerings to meet market demands. 

Serving as President of AEE in 2024 has been a transformative experience. I have had the privilege of contributing to the growth of AEE at an international level, particularly in Europe and Latin America. I have felt the constant support of all the members of the association and the extraordinary team we have at AEE. This journey has reaffirmed my commitment to AEE’s mission and its crucial role in building a cleaner, more sustainable, and inclusive future. 

As I hand over the presidency, I am confident that we have built solid pillars to support our growth globally in the coming years. AEE is a global family, and I feel deeply grateful for having been able to contribute to the strengthening and growth of our great AEE family.
