From Student Leaders to Industry Colleagues: The Lasting Impact of the AEE Network

One of the most powerful outcomes of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) community is the lasting connection it creates. For many students, AEE chapters are more than extracurricular involvement; they are the foundation for future careers and professional relationships.

Two former student leaders exemplify this journey. During their university years, both served as Presidents of their respective AEE student chapters; Ahmad from Mutah University in 2025, and Majdi from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 2024. Through their leadership, they gained hands-on experience organizing events, engaging with peers, and contributing to the broader energy community.

Today, their paths have crossed again in the professional world. They are now working side by side as engineers at Independent Power Plant 4 (IPP4), part of Nebras Power in Jordan—bringing their shared experiences and passion for energy into real-world collaboration.

This is the essence of the AEE network: fostering connections that grow into careers. From student chapter leadership to professional teamwork, AEE continues to support individuals as they transition from learning environments into impactful roles across the global energy industry.

Stories like this highlight the long-term value of involvement in AEE: where today’s students become tomorrow’s industry leaders, working together to shape the future of energy.
