 Andrew Cooper is a Strategic Energy Management Consultant with SYNERGISE, which helps organizations achieve their sustainability goals by enhancing energy efficiency, reducing GHG emissions, empowering teams and making a positive impact in the communities they serve. 

In addition to being a CEM and a CMVP, he is a Certified Practitioner in Energy Management Systems. He is also an AEE Fellow, past AEE International Energy Manager of the Year and the 2023 AEE International Energy Innovator of the Year. 

Andrew initiated and led the implementation of ISO 50001 at New Gold’s New Afton mine, the first at a mine in North America. This helped the mine achieve energy savings equivalent to more than 15% of the annual energy use. The mine received several national and international awards for the implementation including a Clean Energy Ministerial Energy Management Award of Excellence. 

An energetic, entertaining and thought-provoking speaker, who has received many positive reviews, Andrew has been invited to be a keynote speaker and presenter at events in Canada, USA, Chile, Argentina, South Africa and the UK. He has also been invited to be a guest on a number of podcasts.

Kalie Miera is a Technical Account Manager and R&D Associate Energy Efficiency Engineer and Researcher at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) where she supports a variety of initiatives including the DOE’s Better Buildings, Better Plants program. Before her role at ORNL, she was a Senior Energy Engineer for 3M’s Engineering Organization. In this position, Kalie developed and implemented corporate strategy for Energy Management and Decarbonization of Operations for 200+ global manufacturing facilities. Kalie’s work has been recognized through various awards including the Association of Energy Engineers’ International Young Energy Professional Award (2023). Kalie obtained her ME degree in Engineering Management and BS degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified كبير مدققي ISO 50001 through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
