Dr. Anthony Lo is currently the Director of Customer Success and Sales at CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. He has previously held senior management roles across various departments, including retail business, smart metering, and power grid development. With extensive experience in building services, green building design, and energy management, Dr. Lo plays a key role in shaping energy management strategies, implementing innovative technologies and energy-saving solutions, and promoting energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and the adoption of renewable energy. His efforts support business customers in achieving sustainability goals and addressing climate change, while also encouraging the public to adopt a low-carbon lifestyle through education. In recent years, he has also championed the advancement of green finance, with his team successfully linking sustainability-linked loans to energy management services across diverse industries. Under his leadership, CLP Power has supported Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan for net-zero emissions by 2050, notably through the launch of the “Summer Saver Rebate Program” (SSR) in 2022, which has engaged over 2.5 million customers and saved 990,000 kWh of energy in just 10 hours. This initiative is supported by a unique, locally adapted optimization forecast model that processes over 100 million data points in an hour, evaluates over 2,000 district combinations, and improves decision-making and cost efficiency—saving over US$219,000 in demand response event costs. This model exemplifies how strategic use of technology can significantly enhance energy efficiency and demand response capabilities for utilities worldwide
