The Impact of AEE Certifications to Homeowners

AEE certifications are not only important for energy and sustainability professionals; they also provide a valuable assurance for homeowners in United States.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has recently partnered with Google to help consumers to identify and locate qualified professionals and technicians for regular home energy upgrades; this collaboration features the importance of energy certifications including the ones offered by AEE that ensures homeowners in receiving high-quality services from skilled energy professionals.

It means, that now people who are looking for information about services related to plumbing, HVAC, and energy audits on Google Search or Google Maps, will have the opportunity to see a label on their Google Business Profiles that specifies what contractors have one or more employees certified with credentials that are recognized as Energy Skilled^TM by the Department of Energy (DOE).

What Energy Skilled^TM Means?

这 Energy Skilled^TM  Program was created by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that recognizes energy credentialing programs like the ones provided by AEE, as “leaders in preparing workers for meaningful and in-demand job opportunities”.

Those credentials named in this program are the ones that are following the US Clean Energy Transition goals in specific lines of work such as: Heat Pumps, Heat Pump Water Heaters, and Energy Assessment Programs, and in the last one is where AEE certified professionals are making the difference.

Energy Audits

Certified Energy Auditors (CEA®) are professional individuals that are capable of analyze and evaluate how energy is being used in a home or other facility and makes recommendations based on energy conservation or optimization opportunities. The Association of Energy Engineers AEE was awarded in 2024 with an Energy Auditor Training Grant that allow participants to gain essential skills in energy auditing, a field that is trending in high demand, to lead and achieve stable and well-paying jobs in this field.
