About the Program

CMVP Renewal Amnesty is a one-time opportunity designed to help lapsed certified professionals to reinstate their Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) credential.

This Amnesty Program was created on feedback from recent certification surveys; this six-month initiative offers a simplified path to reinstatement with only 10 credits - regardless of the expiration date. Eligible lapsed CMVP professionals can also take advantage of the discounted reinstatement fee during the amnesty period.

This limited-time opportunity supports AEE’s ongoing commitment in helping energy professionals maintain their professional credentials, stay current with industry skills, and stay connected to the global AEE community.

How This Amnesty Works

  • Reduced Fees: Now you have the opportunity to reinstate your CMVP certification at regular renewal fees. No reinstatement penalty fee will be applied during the program duration.
  • Credits Requirement: As part of your renewal amnesty, you will be required to submit a renewal form with ONLY 10 credits (regardless of the year of expiration date), ensuring that your professional expertise remains current and relevant to maintain the standards of the CMVP Program.

Also, remember that AEE members have access to free monthly webinars that qualify for credits towards any AEE certification renewal/reinstatement.

  • Amnesty Period: This CMVP Renewal Amnesty Program is available to ALL eligible certified professionals with dropped CMVP certifications for a limited period of six (6) months – December 2, 2025 – June 30, 2026 – allowing enough time to achieve the credits and take advantage of this unique opportunity.

CMVP Amnesty Requirements

10 AEE credits are needed along with your regular renewal fee.

How to Renew:

  1. Log in to your AEE account.
    • If you need assistance with logging in, please contact us at ce***********@*******er.org with the subject line: CMVP Renewal Amnesty – Login Support.
  2. Click on “View Certification Status.”
  3. Find your CMVP certification and click the “Renew” button to begin.
  4. Process Payment: Payments can be processed online using all major credit/debit cards.
