Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL) Advances Iraq -U.S. Energy Cooperation Through Strategic Partnership with Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)
In a significant step reflecting the growing economic and technical cooperation between Iraq and the United States toward expanding international collaboration in sustainable energy, the Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), a global nonprofit association and one of the world’s leading professional organizations dedicated to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable energy management. The signing ceremony was attended by senior leaders and experts from the financial and energy sectors.
The agreement establishes a partnership focused on strengthening national capacity, advancing green finance, facilitating knowledge transfer, and supporting the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives in Iraq. These efforts align with Iraq’s vision for sustainable development and economic diversification.
Mr. Wadee Nouri Al Handal, President of the Iraqi Private Banks League, stated: “Iraq is not only seeking investment, it is seeking knowledge, technology, and international partnerships that can help build a sustainable future for generations to come. This agreement represents a practical step toward connecting Iraq’s financial sector with global expertise in sustainable energy.”
He further emphasized that the IPBL is committed to positioning Iraqi private banks as key partners in financing clean energy projects and sustainable infrastructure, supporting energy security, creating new employment opportunities, and encouraging investment across the sector.
