2024 Letter from the President
Dear AEE Community,
As we welcome the new year of 2024, it marks a momentous occasion for me personally, as I have been entrusted with the role of President of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). I accept This honor and responsibility with dedication, hard work, and deep passion.
Reflecting on 2023, we have much to celebrate. It was a remarkable year for AEE; our conferences and expos saw a significant rise in participation. The growth in our membership and certification holders has been impressive, and our international outreach has expanded even further, a testament to our resilience in the face of the pandemic and ongoing energy challenges.
Looking ahead to 2024, we are poised to meet critical challenges head-on. As part of our Strategic Plan for 2024-2030, we are committed to several medium-term objectives:
- Enhancing AEE’s global presence through establishing new chapters, hosting international conferences, expanding the scope of our certifications, and gaining broader recognition for our accreditations.
- Increasing the frequency and scale of our conferences and technical summits both within the US and globally, aiming to engage more participants and enrich the AEE community experience.
- Advancing the energy transition by leading in energy engineering, efficiency, and management. We plan to introduce new certifications on pivotal issues like solar energy and carbon reduction.
These goals are within our reach, thanks to our dedicated professional staff and the continued support of our members and advocates. This year will be pivotal for conference growth, with AEE World in Nashville, Tennessee, and AEE West in Bellevue, Washington, alongside several international events.
Now, more than ever, our expertise in energy management is essential in steering the global energy transition, making impactful changes, and setting the course for a decarbonized, sustainable future for generations to come.
Wishing you all prosperity in the new year, and I look forward to seeing you at AEE World in Nashville!
Warm regards,
Andrés Ortuño, President of AEE
