Robert Amundsen, Ph.D. - 2018 Hall of Fame Inductee

Dr. Robert N. Amundsen has been a leader in the energy field for over 30 years. He has served as instructor and mentor to hundreds of energy professionals, in his role as Director of the M.S. in Energy Management program at New York Institute of Technology. Dr. Amundsen is a Certified Energy Manager, Distributed Generation Certified Professional, LEED Accredited Professional BD+C, and a Certified Sustainability Manager. He was the Engineering Faculty Advisor for two NYIT Solar Decathlon Teams, and he is the Chair of the annual NYIT Energy Conference. He received an Environmental Educator of the Year Award and an Energy Professional Development Award from AEE. He earned a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science and a B.S. in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Rochester, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Energy Management and Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Amundsen founded the Long Island Chapter of AEE in 1988. As President of the Long Island Chapter of AEE since its founding, he has presided at well over 100 Long Island Chapter meetings. As the Faculty Advisor of the NYIT Student Chapter of AEE, he serves as a front-line ambassador to the next generation of AEE members.
