Tri-gen was built by FuelCell Energy to support Toyota\u2019s vehicle processing and distribution center at Toyota Logistics Services\u2019 (TLS) Long Beach vehicle processing facility.<\/p>\n<p>Tri-gen demonstrates an alternative way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and burden on natural resources with scalable technology. The energy platform produces three products using renewable natural gas: 1) up to 2.3 MW of electricity annually for use at TLS Long Beach, with excess provided back to the grid; 2) up to 1,200 kg\/day of hydrogen for use in transportation; and 3) up to 1,400 gallons of fresh water daily, used in place of municipal supply to wash and prepare inbound vehicles for shipment to dealers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The TLS Port of Long Beach vehicle facility processes approximately 200,000 new Toyota and Lexus vehicles annually and is Toyota\u2019s largest such facility in the United States.
