CEM Program Launched in Nigeria

End of 2018 saw the launch of the Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) program in Nigeria by the Energy Training Foundation, the energy division of Faculty Training Institute (FTI) based in South Africa and the sole approved training provider for the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) for Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Extensive work has gone into the launch of the program by the individuals passionate about energy in Nigeria over a number of years to achieve this milestone. In addition, Nigeria has now more than 10 AEE members and have started establishing a local AEE Chapter working towards being officially chartered. The first Chapter Meeting was held on 27 October 2018, and this was followed by another Chapter meeting as well as the hosting of Energy Training for Media in Nigeria by the Chapter President Double Joy Dada. This initiative bolstered the visibility of the Chapter in Nigeria with press attending from various radio, television, newspapers and business to business publications.
