CEM Hybrid Live Stream Training and Remote Proctoring
 in Nigeria

The Institute of Energy Professionals Africa (IEPA), together with its training partners in Nigeria, Stratagem Energy Management Company and the AEE Nigeria Chapter, successfully delivered CEM training by Hybrid Live-streaming the training to 13 delegates over 6 days. Their CEM trainer, Albert Williams, Live-streamed to the class in Lagos with Olakunle Owoeye, their trainer-in-training for CEM, managing the class and questions.

Halfway through the program, Nigeria received a day’s notice to lockdown. IEPA quickly moved to Live-streaming directly to delegate’s houses. Challenges in Africa with continuous power supply and regular loadshedding caused a number of disruptions to delegates’ ability to participate. Extra days were allocated with a schedule of the required repeats where delegates could log back in to take the modules missed due to power outages, or disruptions in internet connection.

During this time AEE assisted IEPA in arranging a trial to write the CEM SI exam via the Remote Proctoring. The trial was successful, and the class thereafter could opt to take their CEM SI examination remotely.
