AEE Saudi Chapter March & April Events

March 5th Meeting
The Process & Control Systems Department at Saudi Aramco hosted a technical event on March 5th for the AEE Saudi Chapter. The event theme was New Technologies & Best Practices in Energy Efficient Lighting Systems Design. It started by a welcome note that highlighted Saudi Aramco’s Energy Management Program by Maan Iskander, the head of Energy Systems Division at Saudi Aramco’s Process & Control System’s Department. Ali Qahtani, Chapter President explained the Chapter’s role in increasing energy awareness in the kingdom, Mohammad Alwathaifi presented on AEE membership benefits and the Chapter’s Operation Plan. The event included a technical presentation by Mohammed Yousef from Reynard Lighting on applying new standards for energy efficient lighting systems design, Human Centric Lighting Technology by Roberto Fuser from ESSECI, DALI-2 and IoT applications in new lighting systems technologies by Jack Martin.

April 25th Meeting
The AEE Saudi Chapter in collaboration with the Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency of the Research Institute at King Fahad University for Petroleum and Minerals organized a technical event on April 25th at Dharan Techno Valley. Dr. Fahad Al Sulaimani, Director of the Center presented on the Center’s objectives and achievements. Mohammad Al Wathaifi, Energy specialist with Saudi Aramco and Chapter Vice President presented to AEE certification opportunities. Under the theme, Technologies & Solutions for Buildings Energy Efficiency, Dr. Azzedine Yahiaoui presented a research paper on a Fully Automated Office Building: Application to a Real Test-Cell Case Study. Ahsan Ali from HAGER Group presented on KNX Technology and IoT applications, Khalid Dawood from Energy Efficiency Era presented on Saudi ESCOs Challenges and Opportunities, Nazir Mohammad from KASAB Green Int. Energy Services presented on Thermal Energy Storage and Solar/Wind Powered Lighting Towers Technologies.
