AEE Participates in COP27

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) will attend the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties, or COP 27, held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 7 -18, 2022, hosted by the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC). This critical event brings together world leaders and interested parties while calling attention to the need for urgent action to combat the climate crisis.

Faced with a growing energy crisis, record greenhouse gas concentrations, and increasing extreme weather events, The United Nations highlights key Climate Action areas that, “seek renewed solidarity between countries, to deliver on the landmark Paris Agreement, for people and the planet from urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building resilience and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, to delivering on the commitments to finance climate action in developing countries” (quote from the COP website).

Climate change is a global challenge that knows no national borders. According to the COP website, “The world needs to assume their effective roles and historical responsibilities before humanity to ensure that no one is left behind.”

AEE plans to participate in GORD’s “Role of Energy Efficiency in Decarbonization” panel discussion and other high-level events to advocate for implementation by networking, capacity building, and sharing how dedicated we are to the energy industry through our certification and training programs.
