Announcing the 2022 Energy Managers Hall of Fame Inductees

AEE is pleased to announce the 2022 Energy Managers Hall of Fame Inductees. These individuals have made significant contributions to the energy industry and will be honored at the 2022 AEE World Energy Conference Keynote Luncheon. The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Friday, September 23 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Leonard Chow was the President of AEE Hong Kong Chapter and the Chairman of Hong Kong Association of Energy Engineers (HKAEE).  Leonard was the International Award winner of “The 2011 Energy Engineer of the Year” from AEE USA.  He is also elected the Fellow of AEE in 2013.  Academically, he graduated with First Class Honors at the Imperial College London, U.K.  He practices as a Mechanical and Building Services Engineer for over 38 years.  Subsequently, he obtained his Master MSc and PhD degree.  Dr Chow is currently a Professional Engineer in UK, Hong Kong, USA and Australia.  He established his own company ISPL Consulting Ltd 27 years ago.  Being the course manager for 16 years, he brings in over 60 AEE courses to Hong Kong with over 2,000 trained professionals.  He is the Regional Vice President of the Asia Pacific Rim Development since 2012.  He wrote 3 literatures and over 30 technical papers, guidelines, manuals, and conducted over 30 technical seminars in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Guilin, Jinan, Singapore, Washington and Atlanta of USA in the recent years. 


Catherine Luthin is a pioneer in energy management and sustainability, with over 30 years of industry experience within corporate, nonprofit and regulatory environments. She is the Founder of Luthin Associates, now known as 5, a leading energy management consulting firm that helps public and private sector clients develop and implement proactive energy strategies, better source energy, operate more efficiently, integrate renewable energies and achieve significant cost savings. Catherine currently offers strategic advice within the energy sector as a consultant with Luthin Strategy. Luthin served as the Founder and Executive Director of Consumer Power Advocates (CPA), served on former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Energy Policy Task Force for all three terms of his administration and was one of16 leading energy experts from the private, public and nonprofit sectors who developed the original PlaNYC. Luthin has been appointed to serve on a working group that is currently advising the City of New York on the implementation of Local Law 97 of 2019 (LL97), is serving on a Strategic Advisory Group as part of the New York State Public Service Commission’s Energy Efficiency & Building Electrification Performance Management and Improvement Process Plan, and formerly served as the Energy Policy Chairperson for AEE’s Council on Women and Environmental Leadership (CWEEL). Luthin has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career including Energy Service Professional of the Year, NYC’s most notable women serving the real estate sector, top female entrepreneurs, and more! As a female entrepreneur and successful innovator in a largely male-dominated industry, Luthin commits much of her personal time to actively supporting and mentoring women to prepare them for leadership roles in their fields.
