By: Bill Taylor, Engineering Manager at Energy Systems Group

One definition of the resiliency of a facility or campus is the ability to prepare for and recover from energy disruptions that impact critical operations and missions. Energy disruptions can be considered in various categories ranging from short duration, local outages to widespread outages that can last for days. Each of the situations may be approached somewhat differently, though the core questions and considerations are based on the same basic set of requirements and concerns. This presentation looks to provide an approach to developing the requirements for resiliency; provide various technical challenges to be considered; how these requirements can be leveraged to provide a roadmap for a facility’s resilience planning and potential solutions.
