Course 1 covers all aspects of chilled water systems which influence operational efficiency, including equipment considerations, system design parameters, and maintenance/operational factors. The instructor will show you how to determine the optimum type and arrangement of chillers to best meet your needs. You’ll learn about specific steps you can take to increase chiller efficiency, and to facilitate chiller operation at low load conditions. A special segment of the program is devoted to refrigerant management, putting into perspective all of the refrigerant-related regulations now in place, and how both your current equipment and your future chiller selection are impacted.

Course 2 will focus on air distribution systems, examining how each component functions, and how it contributes to overall HVAC system performance. You’ll see how the system design, along with maintenance and operational factors, impact both energy efficiency and occupant comfort. You'll learn what types of system retrofits may be beneficial, and how to assess potential heat recovery opportunities. The instructor will also take you through the specifics of how the design, installation, and operation of HVAC equipment impacts indoor air quality. Current ventilation requirements will be reviewed, and practical strategies for complying with them will be discussed.
