4 Hours of Instruction: Earns 0.4 CEU / 4 PDH
Now accepting registrations for program beginning February 27, 2006
Presented online in a series of two live 2-hour time modules, this seminar will provide you with the information you need to understand and dissect contracts offering distributed generation (DG) systems at no cost to end users. Any organization interested in having a secure on-site power source, as well as any firm offering commodity energy or DG equipment can benefit from this seminar.

You can participate in the seminar from your office, home, or anywhere you have access to the internet and a phone. You'll have opportunities to interact with your instructor and colleagues in real time during the two live teleconferencing sessions.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR
This information-packed program is designed to show you the pros and cons of an emerging form of distributed generation service which offers power users the option of securing energy from an on-site power supply, with no investment required by the customer. Sometimes called DG for Free, this process generally involves a long-term (7-15 year) contract for energy (typically power and heat, but sometimes also cooling) at a guaranteed discount off of present utility pricing. Now offered by a growing number of provider firms across the U.S., the discounts being quoted often exceed the savings available by buying deregulated energy from a third-party commodity supplier.

While other AEE seminars cover various DG technologies, this seminar specifically provides you with an examination of the DG for Free offering from contractual, regulatory, and economic standpoints. Based on customer interviews, contract reviews and first-hand negotiations with several vendors, this program is designed to offer you a unique and unbiased analysis of the opportunities and pitfalls of no-cost DG options. A variety of legal, technical, and financial issues will be covered in a fast-paced, give-and-take format.

ESCos and commodity energy suppliers (for whom these DG arrangements may be serious competition) will benefit from such exposure, while end users considering on-site power may find exactly the option they desire to make DG happen at their facility. Vendor contact information and other DG resources will also be provided in the course material.
