Objectives To raise the professional standards of those engaged in life cycle building commissioning. To improve the practice of building commissioning professionals by encouraging building commissioning practices in a continuing education program of professional development. To identify persons with acceptable knowledge of the principles and practices of building commissioning through completing an examination and fulfilling prescribed standards of performance and conduct. To award special recognition to those building commissioning professionals who have demonstrated a high level of competence and ethical fitness in building commissioning.
Master's Level CBCP Eligibility Requirements Applicant must have one of the following active certifications:

A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in building commissioning and/or retro-commissioning Examination and Training Requirement All Master’s level CBCP candidates must attend the Life Cycle Building Commissioning preparatory training seminar, and complete and pass the four-hour written Master’s Level CBCP examination, proctored by an AEE-approved exam administrator. Information on seminar training options is provided below. Master’s Level CBCP examination questions are drawn from areas of knowledge such as life cycle building commissioning, new building commissioning, retro and existing building commissioning, and commissioning software. The exam is open book, and questions are a mixture of multiple choice and true/false. A passing score of at least 70% is required in conjunction with meeting all other eligibility requirements to become certified.

How to Apply for Master's Level CBCP Certification
STEP ONE: REGISTER FOR THE AEE MASTER'S LEVEL CBCP SEMINAR
All Master’s Level CBCP candidates are required to complete the 5-day live Advanced Retro Commissioning training program at one of its scheduled locations. Note: Registering for the seminar does not automatically register you for the Master’s Level CBCP exam. After completing your seminar registration, return to this page, and go to STEP TWO. The CBCP exam is administered at each Life Cycle Building Commissioning seminar site, on the afternoon of the last day of the seminar.
