NEW...Announcing - Building Energy & Sustainability Technician Certification (BEST)
The BEST course and certification program was developed to raise the professional standards of those engaged in building energy and sustainability; to improve the practice of building energy and sustainability by encouraging professionals to partake in a continuing education program of professional development for building energy and sustainability technicians; to identify persons with acceptable knowledge of the principles and practices of building energy and sustainability technicians through completing the certification course and fulfilling prescribed standards of performance and conduct; and to award special recognition to those energy professionals who have demonstrated a high level of competence and ethical fitness in building energy and sustainability. BEST candidates must meet pre-qualifications and have work experience established by the independent BEST board and pass the BEST certification exam. The written BEST examination deals with such subjects as: Financial Considerations for Equipment Purchases, Building Utilities, Energy Audits and Instrumentation, Lighting, Energy Savings, HVAC Systems, Heating & Refrigeration Systems, Controls, and Compressed Air Systems. BEST courses are going to be offered in Las Vegas on a regular basis through the end of 2012.

AEE Launches New Website...
Now AEE Members can access their membership record, update contact information and much more! We are very excited about the milestone AEE has taken in developing a member-friendly web site. AEE's 14,000+ certified professionals now have access to their certification records where they can view the status of their certifications. Our new web site is more automated than before, and will allow the AEE staff to assist you more efficiently.

Demand for qualified Certified Energy Managers & Energy Auditors Expected to Heat-up
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has partnered with the local New York Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) to launch a comprehensive training program for Certified Energy Managers® at the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute of Baruch College on March 29 – April 2, 2010. This is the first in a series of trainings planned in cooperation with AEE National and NYSERDA to address the growing demand for qualified Certified Energy Managers and Certified Energy Auditors needed to support the portfolio of energy efficiency programs funded through the Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (EEPS).

Operations & Maintenance Training Incentives Now Available for AEE Seminars
A Cash Incentive from the Pepco and Delmarva Power C&I Energy Savings Programs
The Association of Energy Engineers is pleased to announce that many of its professional seminars now qualify for partial reimbursement of seminar fees from Pepco or Delmarva Power. These incentives are available for pre-qualified professionals based on eligibility. According to Brian Douglas, Director of Business & Development, AEE, “We are excited to be a part of this training initiative as it opens the door for professionals to gain access to continuing education programs, certifications, and knowledge to help them lead their energy and facility team and implement successful retrofit project”. 

Qualify for AEE Training Under the Stimulus Bill
Several states have approved funding for specific AEE energy training programs through the U.S. Department of Labor's Workforce Information Act (WIA). If the specific training you desire is not currently listed, you may request additional AEE Seminars be added to the list of approved training programs in your state.

AEE Approved as a Training Provider in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems (CES)
In becoming an AIA/CES Registered Provider, AEE is committed to a system-wide, top-down commitment to quality professional continuing education and sound administration. The AIA requires that registered architect members earn 18 Learning Unit (LUs) hours of continuing education annually (eight hours of which must be related to Health, Safety, and Welfare topics and four of those eight in Sustainable Design) to remain in good standing.

Association of Energy Engineers and Corporate College Sign Agreement
The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and Corporate College sign an agreement to advance the knowledge and professionalism in the field of energy management. Through this unique partnership Corporate College will become the premier center of excellence for delivering AEE trainings in the Midwest region.

The CEM Practice Exam Is Now Available
The CEM Practice Test was developed by AEE to help candidates prepare for their high-stakes test, understand their strengths and weaknesses across pertinent CEM domains, and reduce test anxiety.
