ABOUT THE SEMINAR

This workshop provides hands-on training combined with tools, real life demonstrations, and active participation of all attendees.

This workshop will enable you to establish the systems and processes necessary to improve energy performance including energy efficiency and energy intensity.  You will learn how to prepare for compliance with the ISO 50001 Energy Management Standard.  Each participant will learn to set up their own energy management system based on the PLAN-DO-CHECK-ACT continual improvement framework.  Practical tools are demonstrated which provide effective measurement and monitoring of energy use and to find hidden waste.  Key low cost – high value project which result in measurable cost reduction in a short time are clearly explained using real life examples.

The workshop includes manuals, Excel Worksheets, and all presented slides and videos.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Thomas C. Mort, BS, CEM, Director of the Saving with Energy company which specializes in providing energy management workshops to manufacturing companies.   A recognized leader in the

field of energy management.  Thomas has led hands-on energy training workshops in hundreds of industrial facilities worldwide.   With  17 years experience in nuclear power plants,  corporate energy manager for a Fortune 100 company with facilities worldwide, and the developer of a successful international energy consulting company, Thomas brings a wealth of experience to the workshops.   A Certified Energy Manager since 1997, Thomas has received numerous US and International Environmental and Energy Awards.  Thomas has developed an efficient method to take his years of experience and effectively transfer this knowledge and skill to facility managers, engineers,  technicians, and EH&S leaders.  His process, often referred to as a KAIZEN Blitz for energy, is highly effective in achieving significant measurable results in a short time.

Thomas actively serves on the CPS Energy Citizens Action Committee, The CPS Energy Green Ribbon Committee, a life member of the AEE, and leads energy conservation workshops for the Alamo Colleges and University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering.
