AEE REGIONAL AWARDS CATEGORIES

1. REGIONAL ENERGY ENGINEER OF THE YEAR
Presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles and procedures of energy engineering, and for superior service to the Association. The recipient must be a registered professional engineer.

2. REGIONAL CORPORATE ENERGY MANAGEMENT
Presented to a corporation, agency, or organization for outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing their corporate energy management program, and for superior service to the Association.

3. REGIONAL ENERGY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in training and development of energy engineers and managers, and for superior service to the Association.

4. REGIONAL ENERGY MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Presented to an individual for outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices, principles of energy management and development, and for superior service to the Association. Usually awarded to a Corporate Director of Energy or Energy Manager performing duties for an industrial firm, or building owner/manager.

5. ENERGY PROJECT OF THE YEAR
Recognizes an innovative energy management project that has been in operation for at least six (6) months and can be substantiated with actual installation costs and operating savings.

6. RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT OF THE YEAR
Recognizes an innovative renewable energy project (and/or a project that has had significant impact on global warming) that has been in operation for at least six months and can be substantiated with actual installation, operating costs and achievements. This is a broad category, and all projects are given fair consideration.

7. RENEWABLE ENERGY INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR
Presented to an individual for outstanding achievement and innovation in promoting the adoption of renewable and/or green energy technologies.

NEW IN 2010
8. YOUNG ENERGY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Presented to an individual 35 years of age or younger on January 1, 2010, who has made outstanding contributions to the energy profession and to the candidate’s community in any or all of these areas: educational and collegiate achievements; professional and technical society activities; civic and humanitarian activities, continuing competence; energy management achievements; climate change activities and achievements; and renewable energy activities and achievements.
