The Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) Program administered by the Association of Energy Engineers gives lighting efficiency-involved professionals the opportunity to receive recognition for their specialized knowledge and experience, and to demonstrate their high level of lighting efficiency expertise to clients, employers and colleagues. Widely recognized throughout industry and government, this certification has the dual purpose of both recognizing the most qualified lighting efficiency professionals, and raising the overall professional standards within the field. THE CLEP EXAMINATION

In addition to meeting specific educational and experience requirements detailed below, candidates for CLEP certification must successfully complete a four-hour open book exam. Fundamentals of Lighting Efficiency Online Seminar is an ideal preparatory vehicle for those wishing to sit for the CLEP exam. The exam is generally offered at one or more locations within the continental U.S. during each calendar year. To check availability, visit www.aeecenter.org/seminars.

WHO QUALIFIES TO TAKE THE CLEP EXAM

Professionals with the following prerequisites may apply:

An engineering degree, and/or P.E., and/or R.A., and/or C.E.M. with at least three
years experience in lighting efficiency.

                    - OR -
A four-year degree in business or related degree with at least five years experience
in lighting efficiency.

                    - OR -
A two-year technical degree with eight years of experience in lighting efficiency.

                    - OR -
Ten years or more of verified experience in lighting efficiency.


HOW TO APPLY FOR CLEP CERTIFICATION:
APPLICATION DEADLINES & FEES

Candidates for CLEP certification must complete and submit an application form, along with a $200 exam/application fee by no later than six weeks prior to the examination date.
